Prince William Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in South America
Prince William plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, as announced by the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event leading up to the climate summit, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belém.
The royal pair were participating in the museum gathering, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the UK government.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
The King has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be taking place in South America before the UN meeting.
Official representatives have portrayed William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as assuming an important role in "global climate discussions".
Previous Activities
The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were introduced to guests including environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and government officials.
This participation involved presentations alongside French leader Macron of France and other international figures at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco during the current year.
Environmental Prize Connection
The COP30 summit will align with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he attends the COP summit on 6 November.
Last week the royal figure characterized the prize competitors as "modern-day pioneers".
Royal Climate Legacy
The King has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
"For decades I've committed a substantial portion of my life trying to warn of the survival risks facing us over global warming, global temperature increases and biodiversity loss," the King told participants.
