Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented California Shoreline
A helicopter hovering over a popular coastal beach unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers looked on.
Videos posted online show the helicopter starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five persons were taken to hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were injured. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Officials indicated the helicopter was linked to an regular “Cars with Copters” charity gathering scheduled for the next day.
